The Parents and Citizens Association (P&C) is a group of community-minded people, parents and citizens, who take on a more formal role to assist the school by providing:
- Feedback on school policies and activities.
- Additional resources to be used to enhance student learning.
- Parents with opportunities to be involved in their child’s education.
Research has shown that parent involvement in a child’s education makes a significant contribution to the child’s success at school.
Meetings
P&C meetings are held on the fourth Wednesday of the month unless holidays demand a change. These meetings are held in the school’s staffroom starting at 6.00pm. Please come along. We would love to see you there and would welcome your input and opinion on matters and issues relevant to our school and your children’s education.
Membership
Membership is open to all parents and citizens interested in the welfare of Ipswich West State Special School. Prior to the Annual General Meeting (AGM) you may submit a membership form to the P&C Secretary via the office or by attending the AGM. At any time you can apply to become a member by completing the membership form and attending a P&C meeting. Your membership will be confirmed at the end of the meeting. You will have full voting rights from the next meeting. Minutes of previous meeting available in the Forms and documents section section under the tab support and resources of this website.
