Ipswich West State Special School provides educational programs for students aged 5–18 years who meet the Department of Education criteria for special school enrolment.
Our school supports students with an intellectual disability, with many students also having additional needs. We welcome families from across the greater Ipswich region and surrounding areas.
Please note that 2026 will be our final intake of Prep students. This change is in preparation for a new primary special school currently being established in Leichhardt, which is being developed to increase capacity and support future enrolment demand in the Ipswich area.
Enrolment at Ipswich West State Special School is considered through a consultation process to ensure the school setting is appropriate to meet each student’s individual learning and support needs.
